Ocean Breeze Beach Resort is more than a business — it’s a passion project. We didn’t set out to build just another hotel in Belize. We wanted to create a place where guests feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely at home from the moment they arrive in Placencia Village.
Craig Densham
Born in the UK and raised in a small village just outside Newcastle, England, Craig spent more than two decades in Tampa, Florida, USA building a successful career in both software engineering and real estate. After years of developing software systems and working in the Tampa property market, he reached a point where he wanted something different — something more meaningful, peaceful, and personally fulfilling.
Craig has always loved travel, building things, and creating memorable experiences for others. When he first discovered Placencia, he immediately felt its magic — the beaches, the people, the slow pace, and the sense of freedom. That spark eventually became the vision for Ocean Breeze Beach Resort.
Today, Craig manages the resort’s operations, infrastructure, and guest experience. With a unique blend of technical expertise, real-estate knowledge, and a passion for hospitality, he ensures Ocean Breeze runs smoothly while keeping the warm, relaxed, boutique feel that guests love.
Risa Scutellaro
Born on Long Island and raised in Florida, Risa has more than 30 years of business experience and a lifelong love for travel, wellness, and hospitality. She brings warmth, organization, and the personal touch that guests quickly fall in love with. Risa is the heart of Ocean Breeze when it comes to guest interactions.
Whether she’s helping plan a perfect beach day, celebrating a guest’s anniversary, or sharing stories over a cocktail at Toucan Jack’s, she makes everyone feel like family.

How Did We Get Here?
Several years ago, we traveled throughout Belize by car, exploring the country from north to south. When we arrived in Placencia Village, we knew immediately this was different.
The beach, the community, the authenticity — it felt right.
So we made a life-changing decision: retire from office work, move to Placencia, and build something meaningful. Ocean Breeze Beach Resort is the result of that leap of faith.
And now, we’re here — hoping to make your vacation just as special.
